The leader of the tribe. Old Deuteronomy is a very old cat who buried 9 wifes, some talk about 99, and his descendant are among the Jellicles. A theory is that Munkustrap, Macavity and Tugger are hiw three sons, representing the Good, the Evil and the Balance between these two forces. But it has never been confirmed.
Wise among the wiser, all cats love and respect him. He has the reassuring attitude of a grandfather and knows what happiness is. The Jellicles are all proud to present him the play they have created for him, the Awful Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles. Every year, he chooses at the end of the ball the cat who will reborn and leave for the Heaviside Layer.
During that night, he is captured by Macavity but Mistoffelees rescues him. He finally teaches us the most important thing : how the address a cat.
Old Deuteronomy's costume is a light brown/brown big coat, with wide horizontal dark brown and white stripes. He wears a big wig and a beard (sometimes only a human type mustache).
