Biography from Cats April 1994 programme where she was a swing : Helen Anker started her musical career at the age of nine, playing the part of Louisa in the West End production of "The Sound of Music". She trained at the Royal Ballet School for five years then furthered her training on a musical theatre course at the Doreen Bird College, gaduating in 1991. Helen comes straight to "Cats" having been an original company member of the hit West End musical "Crazy for You" in which she played Vera and Patsy. Theatre credits also include understudy to Dorothy in "The Wizaerd of Oz" (Crucible Theatre, Sheffiled), Principal soloist in a West End Country tour including Deja Revue, Jive to Jazz and Broadway Melodies, understudy to Snow White in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (Theatre ROyal, Bath), Robin in "Godspell" (Lilian Baylis Theatre) and Grosvenor/undertudy Amy in "Radio Times" (Birmingham Rep. and Queens Theatre, London). Her TV experience includes a film project of "The Importance of Beeing Earnest" in which she played Ceciel Cardew and, most recently, the part of Julie in a Home Office information film entitled "Misadventure". Biography from Cats February 1996 programme : Helen Anker Jemima Helen originally trained as a dancer and, after finishing her studies at the Royal Ballet School at White Lodge and the Doreen Bird College, played one of the Governors in Radio Times (Queen's Theatre). After that she went to Crazy for You (Prince Edward Theatre) and is now delighted to be returning to Cats having previously played Demeter and White Cat. Helen has just played the role of Diana in Soul Mates (Nightingale Theatre, Brighton). Other credits include the world premiere of Noel Gay's Polishing the Sun, The Sound of Music (Appolo Victoria Theatre), Godspell (Bromley), The Wizard of Oz (Sheffield) and Snow White (Bath). Television appearances include Jimm'll Fix It, The Des O'Connor Show and The Olivier Awards.
